K-tec starts repository of optimized PPSSPP settings for RK3566 devices (Anbernic RG503/RG353P…)

With its vivid, OLED widescreen, the Anbernic RG503 is perfectly suited for playing Playstation Portable (PSP) games. Its Rockchip RK3566 CPU is even powerful enough to play many at double the native resolution. The Anbernic RG353P shares this powerful CPU and, although it doesn’t use the PSP’s widescreen format, its screen’s high refresh rate makes for smooth game-play.

Given these devices’ suitability for PSP gaming, we wanted to help everyone get the most out of the experience. To that end, we have started a repository of optimized settings at the following URI:

https://gitlab.com/k-tec/rk3566-ppsspp-settings

The Anbernic RG503 handhelds that we sell come with these settings pre-configured.

The starting list covers 11 of the most highly-rated games for the PSP. However, we’ve tested a number of other games that play just fine with our default settings. This initial set of optimized configurations result from testing on the Anbernic RG503, running the PPSSPP emulator on ArkOS custom firmware, but we expect them also to work well with the Anbernic RG353P.

If you come across a problem with the settings, please let us know by raising an issue. Improve the project by contributing your own optimized settings.

Let’s make technology to remember.
